After a few days in Saigon we were off to explore the Mekong Delta!
We took a bus down to My Tho where we hopped on a boat to float through the sleepy river towns along the Mekong River.
What a world of difference to the craziness and motobikes of Saigon!
In tinier river town of Ben Tre we watched locals make rice paper, coconut candy, rice, and more...
We also spent an afternoon in the markets of Vinh Long town.
We got up bright and early at 5:30am to get on a boat and explore the floating markets. I luuuuuuved them. There were heaps of boats (some sooo old I'm suprised they could still float) spread out along the river with families and shop keepers (and even dogs) buying fruits and veggies.
If a boat wanted to sell something they stuck a huge pole in the back and tied whatever fruit or veggie they were selling to it so other boats could see them and come over to buy!
